About the Job:
Greenjets are looking for a meticulous Accounts Assistant to support our accounts payable and payroll functions. This role suits someone who is part‑qualified or fully qualified in AAT, highly organised, and confident working in a fast‑paced operational environment. You’ll be responsible for accurately inputting payroll data — including overtime and shift allowances — as well as processing staff and travel expenses.
What You'll Do:
Process purchase invoices, staff expenses, and supplier payments, ensuring all entries are accurately coded to the correct project codes.
Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements on a regular basis, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Collect and verify receipts from staff to ensure compliance with company policies.
Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Follow up with suppliers to obtain missing invoices and resolve discrepancies.
Review aged payables, investigate discrepancies, and assist with clearing outstanding balances.
Assist in preparing the weekly/monthly payment run and present to the Manager for review and approval.
Carry out general administrative tasks, such as filing, document management, and data entry, to support the finance team.
Desirable Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:
AAT Level 2–4 (part‑qualified or fully qualified)
Training or certification in payroll administration (e.g., CIPP Foundation level)
Experience processing weekly or monthly payroll in a fast‑paced environment
Handling overtime, shift allowances, bonuses, and other variable pay elements
Managing staff expenses, including mileage, subsistence, and travel claims
Using payroll or finance systems such as Sage, Xero, SAP, iTrent, or similar
Reconciling payroll reports and supporting month‑end processes
Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
